Here in this Land barbarian

Drug Dealers work the Neighborhoods

Hooking up Bands

Of skaters on Boards

Here in this Land barbarian

Men howl like Wolves

For Bulls, Rams, Bears,

Lions, Giants, Vipers and Devils

Here is this Land barbarian

People drink like Fish –

Shop like Hunters after prey

With unrelenting Passion for Consumption

Here in this Land barbarian

I am, as Poet, superfluous –

Unnecessary, redundant

Extraneous, unwanted

Here in this Land barbarian

The Territory of Soul is foreign

Frightening – too deep and high –

Out of Place in this Land barbarian.
