On this day in 1938 (Kin 185) Orson Welles was heard on radio stations reading, War of the Worlds, by H.G. Wells.  This program portrayed a global invasion of the Martians on earth.  The audience panicked, believing that the event actually occurred.  Both Orson Welles (Kin 193) and H.G.
