Into my Dream

Flew a yellow Bird –

A Rose upon each Wing

The Rose was pink

And I did think it odd

This Coloring

The Bird came close

As if to speak

In Awe I shut my Eyes

Then I did feel

Upon my cheek

A tiny Kiss –

A precious Prize.

The lifting of a Curse.

On the vast horizon of Time and Space

Another Golden Age appears

In Hieroglyphic Grace.

In a Plenitude of Solitude I sing –

Throngs of Bougainvillea stretch

Scarlet to the desert Sky –

Birdsong and Sunlight abound

Clouds sail by

Stately, serene –

Hummingbirds hover in Tangerine Trees

Lemons hang ponderous –

Bountiful and free –

Gifts from the gods to me.

Tall Trees

Slake a Thirst

Of which I’m unaware

Until I’m there

In the midst

Of the Mist – 

 Blankets of Leaves

Mark my way

Lush Greens vibrate

 In infinite Hue –

Remarkably blue

Is the Sky

Quietude and Solitude

My Allies strong

In the rendering

Of Soothing Song.

Tonight’s Moon rises

By Degree to Heaven

Over the Skyline

Above Earth’s Horizon

Tonight’s Moon rises

Her Course clear and sure

Charted - specific

By natural Decree

From this I take Comfort

More than random – Life

More than fleeting – Joy

Sorrow – Nevermore.

Red Magnetic Earth

Like frozen Field

Or brittle Fern

I fold into my Self –

Surface Life recedes

Falls far away and deep –

 Sparks fly faint and blue

Too weak for Light or Heat

Frost rustles underfoot

Grasses bend and break

A Shroud upon myself I take –

Infinity curls within

My Shell –

Eros hides

Inside

Great granite Cliffs

Reveal a Planet full of Life –

Her Crystal Center

Pulls the Moon around

Directs the Season

And the Treason

Until the Sun returns.
