There is an Ocean by the Highlands

Second largest in the World

She ebbs and flows with Tides eternal

Reaching out with Waves unfurled

 

There is an Ocean by the Highlands

Atlantic she is called in our own Tongue

Yet she does sing in Tongues unnumbered

Songs for every Land and Old and Young

 

There is an Ocean by the Highlands

Laughing with the dancing Stars of Night

She captures all celestial Beams and Planets

Within her endless Matrices of Light

 

There is an Ocean by the Highlands

Kissing all the Shells upon the Shore

She stretches salty Arms around her Islands

As if to say she could not love them more

 

There is an Ocean by the Highlands

Between two Continents does she sit

Protecting all that lives beneath her Surface

Bearing to her Ports each noble Ship

 

There is an Ocean by the Highlands

She is the Stuff of Life and Lore

She beckons all with Swells unceasing

As Poseidon for his fair Athena roars.

Patiently she organizes

Synchronic Evolution

Empowered by

The Universal Fire

Of Endurance

Under the birthing Power

Of the first Magnetic Moon.

When you are unaware---

Intertwining Dreams through

Layered Realms of Slumber

 

Keep close these Shades remembered---

Disjointed – vague – dismembered

Starry Robes of Hypnos all---

Strewn with Sign and Symbol

 

Take the magic Carpet’s Flight

To the Markers and the Making---

To the sleeping and the waking

Tapestry and Language of the Night.

And feel when you’re with me

 

Finally, the chime of Ecstasy –

The Bliss of a Soul set free.

Where Time and Space lose all significance?

By transmuting thoughts of Fear infernal

Into Devotion’s transcendental Dance

Worth more is Vigilance than Sacrifice

Pre-requisite to Life miraculous

 Avoid all Fear while curbing Avarice

Thus, will the Cosmos all your Missions bless

 

Dreams manifest in Synchronicity

When sacred Time designs Reality.

I knew not what to be or do –

How to escape – where to go

 

Finally surrendering all that I did

I went where I truly lived

 

Mind and Body are merely Tools

To build a Being worthy

 

Mind and Body make no Case –

Lock, Stock, and Barrel

Divinity within

If only I could heal each Wound you own

And mend the Places where your Soul is torn

A silver Moonbeam I would sculpt and hone

That it might pierce the hardest Heart e’er born

A golden ray of Sunlight will I use

To thread my Quill with soothing Thoughts and Care

Every Rift and Ravel you will lose

To perfect Suture, excellent Repair

But Time alone has Tools to fare so well –

In my Power I do presume too much

Wishing that in wishing itself could dwell

A Magic only angels use and touch.

 

My hope is that a perfect Love and Time

Transform all Pain into Peace sublime.

As I looked down the Corridors of Time

Those Halls were empty, desolate, and still

I’ve lived in every Century and Clime

Becoming what I wish and what I will

I traveled fast in search of something lost --

Forgotten since the Dawn of Time’s Rebirth

I could not name it nor of Knowledge boast --

Though I Redemption sensed, and with it Mirth.

I saw then your Figure solitary

Beckoning me from Futures not yet lived --

Your strong Embrace gave Sanctuary

From Fear and Death as soon as I believed.

 

I chose Faith and a Share in what is True

Love rescued me from Time when I found You.

Ask me to find the Oyster’s sweet Pearl

 

Ask me to live without Water or Air

 

Ask me to cut off my Breath or my Hair

 

But ask me not ever to cease loving you

Then alabaster bones alone do stay

Supporting one activity – no more--

Necessities expendable become

I meditate entirely on Thee

No other function takes me from my home

Nor hunger, commerce, nor philosophy--

Contemplation truly undertaken

Sustains the mind, the body, and the soul

Bliss pervades, and ecstasies awaken

All else is rendered dross when Thou art goal--

 

If naught but thought of Thee is my desire

Then neither death nor life can quench the fire.
